Wellington- Over 500 Children are expected to attend Wednesday’s match at International Polo Club. Most of the children attending the game will be on a summer camp field trip.  

 

The match is important to both teams because they are attempting to keep pace with the Central Florida Kraze for first place in the PDL Southeast Division and to capture the driver’s seat for a national playoff spot set for late July.

 

The Bradenton Academics are in third place of the Southeast Division with 9 points. A win against the Palm Beach will create a tie with the Pumas for second place. A Pumas win will place Palm Beach behind the Central Florida Kraze by only 1 point and will play the Kraze for first place on Saturday in Wellington.

 

The game has potential to be the best standard of soccer thus far in the season. The Pumas defeated Bradenton in their first home game of the season 2-1. Both teams are better fit and more confident. The pitch at the International Polo Club is 120 x 80 yards of plush Bermuda grass. This will allow both squads to open up and play an attacking style of possession soccer. Both teams will be keeping a check on the current tropical depression developing in Caribbean to determine if the game will be played in 90 degree temperatures or in the rain.

 

This is an excellent game for young local players to come watch. They will be able to witness a high level of technical and tactical soccer.
