West Palm Beach, Fl. – ( Friday, December 2, 2005)- The Palm Beach Pumas are pleased to announce that Dor Yasur, the Pumas College Prep team co-captain is the first 2005-06 player to sign with a NCAA Division 1 soccer program. Dor has signed commitment papers with American University in Washington DC.  Yasur is the Pumas only high school senior and attends Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton.

 

Dor was captain of the '87 Florida State Team in 2004. He also was the 2004 1A District High School Player of the Year.  Before coming to the Pumas his former coach, Luis Gajardo was a big influence in his youth career. Yasur explained, “I am excited about the challenge of earning a starting position with a quality program. I have 9 months of hard work to prepare for such a task.”

 

Pumas Coach, Bobby Lennon says, “We look forward to helping Dor’s individual game so he can excel at the next level. We are happy to see another local player go to a quality college program that has a rich soccer tradition.”  Yasur is expected to play on the Pumas 2006 PDL team starting in May.
