Bradenton tie Pumas For Second Place
Pumas Lose 2-0 on a Spirited Kids Day

Wellington- The Palm Beach Pumas lost a tough divisional contest to the Bradenton Academics 2-0 at the International Polo Club. The loss moves Bradenton into a tie with the Pumas for 2nd place in the PDL Southeast Division.  Both teams have a 4-4 record with 12 points and are 4 points behind the first place Central Florida Kraze.  The Kraze visit the International Polo Club this Saturday for a 5pm kickoff.

The Bradenton game was played in the heat of the day to accommodate youth camp day.  Over 500 kids came and enthusiastically cheered for the Pumas. Both teams had several chances but only Bradenton capitalized on their scoring opportunities.  Bradenton’s leading goal scorer Zack Boggs scored the first goal after a Palm Beach misdirected pass.  After several Pumas substitutions Palm Beach dominated the midfield but could not finish any of their five shots. Hunter West came into the game for Bradenton at the 71st minute and scored in the 79th minute to finish the game for Bradenton.

Coach Bobby Lennon said after the game, “We are 4-4 at the midpoint of the season. We have to find consistency in our play if we want to win the division. Our goal for the second half of the season is to continue to develop players while winning more games.”
